Welcome to Booking Through Thursday, a weekly bookish meme about books and reading for everyone who loves both. Booking Through Thursday was first hosted by Deb. With permission, I’ve restarted it in 2026.
How to play:
- On your blog: Copy the question/image for your blog, answer it there, and post a quick comment on that week’s post with a link or trackback so we can read it.
- On social media: Copy the image, answer the prompt, and post a quick comment on that week’s post with a link.
- Right here: Answer in the comments section for that week’s post and start the discussion here. No need to have a blog to play.

In the next few weeks, I’ll also be adding a list of upcoming prompts here (so you can plan ahead).
Upcoming and scheduled prompts
- January 1: What are you reading this first day of the year?
- January 8: Are you participating in one (or several) reading challenges in 2026?
- January 15: Self-help books: yea or nay?
- January 22: What book surprised you in 2025?
- January 29: Do you have plans to tackle your TBR pile in 2026?
Have fun with this! Coming up with weekly prompts was always fun!
Thank you for letting me relaunch it!
OK, so this is kind of a multi-part prompt, so it might not work, but I’m curious: What do people consider a “difficult book”? If they’ve finished it, what kept them going? If they didn’t, do they think they might ever return to it? Why/why not?
Oh, I love this prompt. It sounds like a good one for February. Thanks!
