Getting ready to switch gears

The moon keeping an eye on me during my morning walk

Did a few marketing things this week for The Pansy Paradox (out on Tuesday!), but I’m also looking ahead to what’s next. Namely, The Marigold Miracle. Because the best marketing is the next book.

Also, I’m excited to head back into the writing cave.

In other news, my daughter and I have committed to clearing out the basement. We are determined to turn it back into the cozy oasis it is meant to be. Still, we have a carpet tear-out this week. Wish us luck. But today I’m putting my feet up and catching up on the slow read of Possession.

  1. Congratulations! You’ve made so much progress over the last few weeks, it will be exciting to see if finally released.

Good luck with that basement renovation — hope your carpet tear-out goes well. And it’s lovely that your daughter is close enough that she can help out with these projects.

Hope you enjoy your time with Possession. I have very much appreciated & enjoyed Caroline’s weekly notes, but I don’t think I would have kept reading without them. I finally decided that the 50-pages-a-week was working against me getting more involved in the story (and there was already the challenge of ALL the poetry, and the pages and pages of letters), so this week I pushed through to the end. And by the time I got there I felt a bit more vested in these characters than I had been. It’s definitely a book that wants you to notice its construction more than the story — one reason I’m not a lit major — but this process reading a work with the accompaniment of a docent providing insight has been interesting & useful. That sounds like damning with faint praise, but I actually have been glad for the experience, and I’ll probably try it again sometime.
