T Kingfisher is pretty much an auto-buy for me, more her fantasy than the horror. Although, even her horror isn’t too horrifying. It tends more toward the gothic (which I can do, but I have to be in the mood).
Recently, I’ve added Beth Brower to my list, and I will be downloading Emma #9 on the first day it’s released.
I have heard great things about T. Kingfisher’s books.
Beth Brower yes! I have only read her Emma M. Lion books but her other series looks amazing as well.
I really enjoy T. Kingfisher’s books. I’m reading the fourth in the Saint of Steel series (even though I bought it a while back).

T. Kingfisher is a new one for me, but then, so is my recent (occasional) dip into fantasy and fantasy-adjacent work. It will probably not surprise you, but the Kingfisher book that looks most appealing to me is The Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking.
I have a few mainly romance authors lol. Their books just make me want to curl up into them with a sweet coffee and cozy blanket.

Except for Beth Brower and The Unselected Journal of Emma M. Lion, I don’t know that there are any authors whose new releases I await with such fervor that I pre-order their works or jump in line at amazon the first day a book becomes available. That said, if I notice that certain authors — Ann Patchett and Sigrid Nunez in particular — have published new works, it definitely catches my eye and goes on my TBR list (currently maintaining in Obsidian). Likewise, I’ll flag new releases in any of the series I’m reading. I’m not as much of a mystery fan as I once was, but if I hear about a new release in The Martini Club series (Tess Gerritsen) or anything by Richard Osman, it’s probably going to get loaded onto my Kindle very soon.
Oh, yes. I forgot about Richard Osman. I generally auto-buy his books as well. They generally come out at the time when I need that sort of read.
