You know, I’ve always had cats and NEVER had them climb the tree. Mama Kitty is playing with the ornaments on the lower part, but that’s it.
This is why we DON’T have a tree at all this year. I was tired of cleaning up needle-filled cat barf. I have no suggestions for you. Sorry.

I have seen lots of cats climb in trees like that and play with ornaments or whatever but I’ve never seen one try to eat the lights before, haha.
When I cats that weren’t fat, old and lazy we didn’t have a tree. Ever. We tried… once. It was knocked over more than once, and some precious ornaments broken.
Kitten = no tree.
Just saying.
Oh dear. You have all my sympathies of course. But one reason I’m the fifth to comment is that I keep laughing and insisting on showing your pictures to everyone who walks by.
